The Good Dog Company

Good for your pet and the planet!

Who They Are

The Good Dog Company all started with the search for a durable but natural dog toy. After careful research, that natural and durable ingredient was found in hemp. Hemp is one of the strongest natural fibers available and gentle on the planet as well.

All of The Good Dog Company's hemp pet products are made from 55% hemp and 45% certified organic cotton. They love hemp's naturally antibacterial, antimicrobial, and hypoallergenic qualities. The Good Dog Company also handcrafts every product in Hendersonville, North Carolina!

Don't worry, they make sure to put their products to the test with real "Lab" testers! The owners are the proud parents of two Labrador retrievers, Yikes and Gus, who work tirelessly to test the durability and quality of each new product.

Why We Like Them

The Good Dog Company centers its business around the high quality fibers that make up their toys, leashes, and collars. From durability to safety, high-quality hemp and certified organic fibers treat your dog to strong products that are safe to play with!

Their hemp is grown without the use of herbicides or pesticides. Its long fibers make for a tough toy, and can hold together through any (okay, most), tug of war matches! Chosen with your pup in mind, The Good Dog Company decided to use hemp due to it’s natural qualities that won’t rub painfully against sensitive skin, it rejects mold and mildew, and smells good to your dog! In their leashes, collars, and harnesses, these hemp fibers are paired with 45% certified organic cotton, creating a super soft blend your pet will love.

In creating products with your pets in mind, The Good Dog Company also creates with the earth in mind. Their materials, hemp and organic cotton, are both grown without harsh chemicals. Hemp, specifically, is a fast growing renewable resource, which relies on fewer resources to grow than other textile plants. By making their products in the USA, they are held to higher labor standards, and their workers are entitled to fair wage.

Your pets are loyal, they love you, and sometimes they adorably chew up the gifts you give them. Don’t let them chew on toys made with chemicals or synthetic materials–they deserve natural-smelling, biodegradable products! With The Good Dog Company, you can give your furry friends high quality materials that treat them, and their planet, right!

The cannabis plant produces more fiber per acre than common textile crops like cotton and flax, and actually adds nutrients to the soil instead of depleting them! Hemp is strong, breathable, and moisture wicking, and it requires minimal dye during fabric production due to its high absorbency qualities.

Organic cotton production uses zero chemical pesticides and fertilizers, promoting a healthier use of land and decreasing harmful agricultural runoff. By steering clear of toxic chemicals, workers experience less exposure to hazardous conditions, promoting social responsibility as well as environmental stewardship. Plus, farming methods for organic cotton have been shown to use up to 20% less water than nonorganic production methods. Choosing organic cotton eliminates the use of insecticides and other harmful chemicals, promotes efficient resource use, and results in a safer products and a cleaner planet!
